I studied as boarder in St. Vincent`s during the period 1971-1980. Grew up from a small boy to a teenage with Christian Brothers. Sense of descipline and maturity were inculcated. Most importantly, I learnt my english language in the conducive surrounding of this school.
There had been almost 18 football playing fields where seasonal games were played. A large auditorium having provisions for almost all indoor games and small movie screening were housed for the recreational purpose. Then, there was Late Mr.Coleridge. Our most beloved bullshiter.
Mr.Mathew & Mr.Bhattu were our everyday companion. I owe my success in life to whatever I inherited during my stay (for 10 yrs. as boarder)in the school.
Let the Light of Love keep going strong.

During our boyhood from 1952to around 1961 we had seen various cultural and sports activities on the adjacent ground popularly known as Loco Ground. We participated in the Asansol Divisional Rly Sports Programs generally held in the 3rd week of December every year.So many circus troupes viz.Jubilee,Raymon,Kamala,Great Bombay, etc came here to show their prowess.Once we saw the mighty King Kong and some other international and national champions of wrestling paticipating in bouts. From 1960 every year in April the Divisional Rly,Asansol started holding exhibitions in this ground while observing Rly Week. This used to draw very big crowd.
The tank was a repository of varieties of fish. Many diehard anglers would spend hours dipping their angling rods inthe tank not without success. The tank also offered itself to many amateur swimmers for practice and enjoyment specially during summer months.I remember one sad incident during my early school days.It was summer of 1952.One evening we learnt the sad demise of one of our beloved seniors Srikantada (Srikanta Chakrabarty)when he went for swimming after morning school.I remember a condolence meeting was held in our School of Physical Culture premises in Budhadanga behind our Rly Qrs.
